"the patron saint of purge and pain" by author Jean-Marie Bub

the patron saint of purge and pain

preorder here.

THE PATRON SAINT OF PURGE AND PAIN combines written word and visual art to immerse you in catharsis; from identifying your wound to making amends with it, PURGE is the cleanse you've been longing for. As the author takes you through their personal reclamation of rage, you're guided on how to do the same for yourself. With instruction on how to use art as a tool to work through trauma, this book is a transformative manual on how to use your pain as a means for rebirth — a reinvention for the artist and the defiant, a shedding unlike any other.

like MANEATER, this book includes appropriate trigger warnings, help resources and even a how-to-read page to help pace yourself while reading the book. Don't ever hesitate to reach out if you need someone to talk to. I'm just a DM away on Instagram.

Pulchritude and Soul

out of print \ 2016

The word "Pulchritude" describes the beauty of a flower so dangerous, one could be lured into his/her own doom. "Pulchritude and Soul" is an anthology of raw, passion filled poems written over a three year span, after the writer was given a second chance at life. This book highlights her personal journey through turbulence, acceptance, resilience and realization.

MANEATER brings to life one woman’s pain through poetry — visceral and rage filled, every line is palpable; it feels like your own. In her third collection of poetry, Bub focuses on legitimizing survivors anger through her own story, while examining the everyday traumas of womanhood. Every woman serves as a home to a collection of wounds and scars unique to her, but there is a universal resonance to those carved there by man, by those who would choose to denigrate her insidiously, by those who have pushed her into the ugly truths of womanhood too soon, by those who’ve painted her in every shade of blue. MANEATER is the story of every daughter of Lilith wronged, screamed in her every voice. It echoes of Medusa, of Eve, of Persephone. It echoes of you. It echoes of me… you feel the wrath of one woman coming undone, of one become whole through using her power -- her voice. In using it so, she has found her vengeance. And there is a sort of sweetness to that in a world devoid of justice, isn’t there? It is a fire. A beacon. A light of hope for other women, for other survivors — to wield like weapon.

Roots of the Resilient

2018 | purchase here.

This is a collection of poetry for those who have suffered with mental illness. This is for the "strong ones," the broken, the tired. This is for the resilient. This is for the ones that have spent years fighting the thoughts that plague their minds, this is for those who never gave up. This is my ode to hope, to strength - this is Roots of the Resilient.

After the authors attempted suicide and years of being stifled of growth; she decided it was time to give herself to the sun and never look back. Roots of the Resilient is an anthology of raw, passion filled poetry, written amidst her turbulent struggle with bipolar personality disorder, manic depression and anxiety. It's prying, it's powerful, it's all too personal, but most importantly -- it's the truth.

Roots of the Resilient contains trigger warnings and multiple help resources.
